Ich habe mit einer 800 x 800 (Pixel) Transparentn Fläche angefangen. Als ich mein Icon auf 120 x 120 verkleinert habe war der Hintergrund nicht mehr transparent.
Du musst die bestimmte Ebene (welche den Transparenzbereich füllt) in Smartobjekt konvertieren. Dann nimmst du Radiergummi, bestätigst die Meldung und radierst nur die transparente ebene.
