Dem Nachrichtenmagazin "Focus" sagte der Gründer und Chef der Internetplattform YouTube, Chad Hurley, dass man auf jedem Bildschirm vertreten sein möchte. Zu diesem Zweck sollen TV-Geräte mit Internetzugang konstruiert werden.
YouTube verhandelt mit Sony und Panasonic. Bereits im Januar sollen die ersten Prototypen vorgestellt worden sein.
Auch zum Fernsehsender RTL äußerte sich Hurley. RTL hatte veranlasst, dass Ausschnitte von "DSDS" von der Plattform gelöscht werden. Hurley sagte, dass man den Fernsehsendern mehrere Möglichkeiten anbiete. Sie könnten auch an den Werbeeinnahmen mitverdienen.
