W3C Validator Fehlermeldung: there is no attribute BACKGROUND

       
Ich bin gerade dabei, die Fehler in einem HTML-Dokument mit Hilfe des W3C-Validators zu korrigieren.

Bei der folgenden Fehlermeldung komme ich allerdings nicht weiter, ich hoffe ihr könnt mir dabei helfen:


Die vollständige Tabelle sieht so aus (jaja, Tabellen sind überholt):

Warum wird hier der background="..." in der unteren Zeile nicht akzeptiert?

RE: W3C Validator Fehlermeldung: there is no attribute BACKGROUND

       

Hintergründe sind im stinknormalen HTML gar nicht für Tabellenzellen vorgesehen
Dementsprechend ist "background = " auch nicht valide und falsch und sollte auch nicht benutzt werden.

Schreib "class = X" rein und definiere das Hintergrundbild in einer CSS Klasse dann sollte das auch gehen + valide sein

genauer gesagt xhtml mag das nicht. normales html schon. steht doch da, dass dein doctype normalerweise dieses attribut nicht unterstützt.

da ist übrigends ein button, der dir den quelltext automatisch säubert.

Ich wüsste nicht das es einen Doctype von W3C gibt, welcher "background" im td-tag unterstützt, sei es HTML oder xHTML.
Lasse mich gerne eines besseren belehren.

ohnehin gehören meiner meinung nach "style-technische" sachen NICHT in den html code selbst, sondern ins css.
Un dann dürfts relativ egal sein.

mal was anderes: wozu nutzt du die tabelle und kann man sie nicht durch divs ersetzen?
wenn man ne tabelle vermeiden kann, sollte man dies auch ^^
