Nun ist es offiziell: Apple eröffnet den Mac App Store. Hier können Snow- Leopard - Nutzer ähnlich wie beim iPhone Miniprogramme (genannt Applications oder: Apps) kaufen und direkt herunterladen. Von Anfang an sind über 1000 kostenpflichtige und kostenlose Apps verfügbar, die Mac - Besitzer von nun an verwenden können. Apples Ziel ist es, den Software Markt ebenso umzurempeln, wie es ihnen in dem Verkaufsmarkt von Handy - Apps gelungen ist. Apples Konkurrenten (insbesondere Microsoft und Adobe) hatten bisher nicht die Möglichkeit Apps auf der Plattform zum Verkauf anzubieten. Zukünftig wird dies aber wahrscheinlich noch passieren.
Um den Mac App Store zu nutzen ist ein iTunes Store Account nötig. Vielleicht hat Apple hiermit ja einen neuen Grundstein in Sachen Software - Verbreitung geschaffen. Zuzutrauen wäre es ihnen.

Hab mir direkt Angry Birds geladen und die Umsetzung ist sehr gelungen
Vor allem kann man iLife, iWorks etc. bequem über den App Store updaten
